Your Teachers
Rachel Beare
Rachel Beare began her Practice 25 years ago and has been teaching full time now for 20 years.
Her Yoga story began with the wonderful Margaret Kenny in Limerick who urged her to go to her teacher, Radha in Crete, from there, the insatiable devotion grew and Beare had the privilege to then study under Guruji~Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and his son Sharath in Mysore, India. As time flowed by, Beare deepened her studies of The Sutras & the language of Sanskrit through various teachers including Dr. M.A Jayashree & Acharya Shankaranarayana Jois so she could better understand the profound simplicity of The Path of Yoga.
She attends Sanskrit & Philosophy sessions as a student and continues to further expand her learning all the time, returning to beloved teachers & guides for Asana, Meditation, Chanting & Philosophy Training.
Beare’s belief is that the learning should never end, that we can only hold the mantle of Teacher genuinely if we are consistently being inspired by the wealth of education there is on The Path. Wisdom is an internal process that cannot grow unless the mind is open to new ways of being.
Beare will be your Primary Teacher & with you in the Shala for the entirety of the course, both during and between all sessions including the ones taught by our Guest Teachers, this will give you continuity & reassurance. She will be your guide for the Ashtanga Vinyasa inspired section of the syllabus and also for Philosophy, Chanting & Ayurveda.
Helen Noakes
Helen has had the pleasure of training and learning from the students of Vanda Scaravelli. Elizabeth Pauncz, Gary Carter, Diane Long and others who are dedicated to this beautiful approach to movement.
She has been sharing seminars, Yoga Teacher Trainings and Chavutti Thirumal (massage by foot pressure) courses in India, Europe, USA and Scandinavia for nearly 30 years.
Helen’s passion is sharing this deeply intuitive attitude to Yoga & integrated health through movement… not only because it enriches the Practices of everyone who tries it but also because Scaravelli Yoga has contributed profoundly to her own journey of learning, healing & self-love & care.
Her other inspirations include the art of Five Rhythms, the teachings of GAGA, Ecstatic Dance, QiGong and her bodywork career.
Joyfulness and simplicity are the essence of Helen’s teachings & sessions & they are accessible for any one with any body type.
Helen will be with us for the May, November & December 2026 sessions and she will be part of the Teaching Assessment Team in July of 2027 at the end of the course.
Helen will guide you in learning & teaching through the contexts of freedom, spirals and space!
The beauty of this approach to Hatha Yoga in the spirit of Vanda Scaravelli, is that the primary focus is the individual’s expression of the movements & concepts…. Yoga in its truest form has a loving texture.
Helen will be your guide, navigating your personal sensations with you encouraging you to pay attention to them and allow space for spontaneous movement to reveal itself…. you’ll dive into your tension with the idea of slowly & safely softening it rather than fighting it!
Helen will lead you to discover how to become more centred and grounded by creating a strong connection to your feet, alongside a relationship to the breath and gravity so as to feel deep and lasting release in your spine.
As an experienced Teacher Trainer she will deeply inform you how to teach through this language of Scaravelli inspired Yoga….
..an open invitation to expand in all directions, to breathe deeply and to love your body and its miraculous functions.
Greg Walsh
Greg is the senior Yoga Teacher & owner of Temple Bar Yoga in Dublin
With over 25 years of teaching experience, Greg Walsh is one of Ireland’s most respected yoga educators. A senior teacher and studio director, Greg brings a wealth of knowledge, precision, and passion to his teaching — qualities that have inspired generations of students and teachers alike.
Greg began teaching yoga in 1999 and has since founded and directed several leading studios, including Prana Yoga Centre, Samadhi Yoga and Temple Bar Yoga in Dublin. His teaching has taken him across Ireland, Europe, and the USA, where he is known for his clear instruction, grounded philosophy, and deep respect for yoga as a living practice.
Introduced to yoga while travelling in Nepal, Greg was drawn to its transformative potential. He studied the Iyengar method intensively for over 20 years, earning his Intermediate Level 3 Certificate in 2016. While his teaching remains deeply informed by this training, Greg no longer teaches within the Iyengar system. Instead, he has developed a more exploratory and fluid approach — one that values clarity, awareness, and personal inquiry over strict form or dogma.
In his words:
“We use yoga to gain mastery of the body, the body to connect with the breath, and the breath to understand the mind. Through that process, we begin to touch something deeper — awareness, consciousness, essence.”
As an experienced Teacher Trainer, Greg offers his unique perspective to help trainees deepen their understanding of yoga — not just as a practice, but as a way of seeing and living.
Greg will be with us for both the introduction & the student assessment sessions, he’ll also lead the April Saturday & a full weekend in the Summer Intensive in July 2026
As a teacher on The Yoga House 200-Hour Teacher Training, Greg Walsh brings over 25 years of experience in asana practice, alignment-based teaching, and functional movement. His approach blends precision with curiosity — encouraging trainees to understand not just what a posture looks like, but how and why it works in the body.
Greg’s teaching is rooted in clear alignment principles and informed by a deep study of anatomy in action. His sessions explore how bones, joints, and muscles interact in each pose, helping trainees recognise safe and efficient movement patterns. Through this, students learn to see bodies clearly, read alignment intelligently, and teach with confidence and care.
On the training, Greg will lead modules in:
Asana and Alignment – establishing a clear understanding of postural foundations, stability, and balance.
Anatomy in Asana – integrating functional anatomy into practice, with attention to individual variation and joint mechanics.
Teaching Methodology – developing the skills of observation, sequencing, adjustment, and communication essential for effective teaching.
Greg’s sessions are practical, detailed, and supportive. He brings humour, precision, and depth of experience to every class — helping trainees bridge the gap between learning and teaching with confidence and clarity.

About the Course
While this Teacher Training Programme will be an exploration into Posture, Breathing, Meditation, Anatomy, Teaching Methods, Adjusting & so much more, it is also an opportunity to truly understand the Philosophies & Teachings from The Yoga Sutras, The Bhagavad Gita, The Hatha Yoga Pradipika & The Upanishads. These great texts are the foundation stones of our Practice, studying them keeps Yoga alive & cherished in our hearts.
A Practice such as Yoga, a codified Ethos of how to become & remain steady through the chaos, is now more necessary than ever in our society, here at The Yoga House, we also acknowledge that our lives, as householder Yogis are very different to the lives of the Monastic Yogis who initially developed the system. We hold the Old School in high esteem, without it, there would be no ‘New School’ thus, it’s important that we learn how to integrate the Ancient Wisdom in a way that is relevant to our experience of modernity. We can actively love & honour the Lineage without being bonded to the aspects of it which are outmoded. This allows us to constantly adapt as life updates itself so that we don’t become rigid or dogmatic…indoctrination is not our goal, Freedom is! ….and so a commitment to this programme is a meaningful step to align you with proper purpose, to help you grow and ultimately to transform you into the Yoga Teacher that is needed NOW, in our time!…. As we evolve together through the 18 months as a Sangha (Community) we will strengthen ourselves to carry the light more authentically, so we can pass it on, always respecting The Sacred Lineage while breathing new life into it so as to literally make the world a better place!
